(I have a perfectly good alto clar & Basset Horn reed cutter (#2) used only
for a dozen reeds I made. It's probably still less than 20.)

Since it was a slow news day I thought I would include a brief overview of
items and a few humble comments on some others.

A "complete" repair book for clarinet -imho- would be a large undertaking
requiring the cooperation of many artists (repair persons and makers of the
instrument) it would have to be very large and contain many illustrations,
photographs and drawings; thoroughly cross-referenced, a glossary and a
comprehensive index. It would likely be comprised of least 5 volumes (one
being the index, definition of terms, glossary, list of tools, supplies,
makers specifications for different instruments, etc..

Such an item should also cover in brevity: the history and acoustical
science and enough easy-to-understand relative acoustical engineering data
so that one could literally build their own clarinet with either moderne or
archaic tools. Despite its size and seemingly complex look it should be
understandable by the player, restorer, band director, and be entertaining
enough for the reader/player.

There should be the inclusion of all systems and models, the specifications
the manufacturers possible and an addendum to this compilation along with
other materials in repair no covered or improved upon released every so
often so that revised volumes be unnecessary..

I wanted to mention that I hope someome who likes gadtery I have a great
number of odd clarinet Items I have been saving over the years:
