Dear Friends,
As some of you know I try to play in church. And you have heard me complain
about the number of sharps some of the hymns transpose into. So I went to the
local music store and naively asked if they have a clarinet in the key of A.
I thought I would have some nice plastic number brought out. Instead this
fabulous wood Buffet in a leather covered chest etc. etc. And he will let me
have it for about $2500.00. When he asked if I wanted to play it! I
gracefully declined and humbly left. Are there such things as plastic A
clarinets? Is there anyway of getting around the 5 and 6 sharps and still be
in tune with the rest of our little group?
