David Pino, clarinetist and author, expresses his philosophy regarding
practice and
perfection: "(1) [always] strive for absolute perfection in your playing,
(2) remember that
you will never attain perfection as a player, (3) know and accept that
you are a human
being striving for perfection . The end result will be nothing less than
your best. No one -- teachers, conductors, listeners -- ever expects you
to do better than your best."

Modify the saying...

Improved practicing brings improved results.

Sloppy practicing leads to unreliable results.
