To All Members of Klarinet,

It has come to my attention that several members of the list do not care
much for my auctions and announcements or perhaps my signature which seems
a commercial one but it is not.

My intent is/was to add to Klarinet by sharing not only what I am but what
I have and in return I gain some knowledge and perhaps a few crumbs for my
4 score of notation.

If I had a very special item to show and tell, to sell at auction or allow
to be forgot there may be some people interested and some not. But what
denotes ordinary to one may be extraordinary to another.

Some of the things I have had in the past nobody wanted. I could not give
them away. Some of them are likely in museums because I did - better than
under a pile in the closet of a gnome. Perhaps I did not benefit but others
will because there is more to "gadgets" than a few dollars. There is
history and entire lives and in some cases fortunes spent on development.

There is no doubt, the best inventors of clarinet gadgetry are
clarinetists. This is a list for learning and exchanging ideas and this
list will likely in some manor contribute to the advancement of our
instrument(s) and already has.

I cannot proffess to know much about anything as I am not a professor.
However I have been around long enough to know that we either choose to
ignore a voice, respond, add to a conversation, offer information, or none
of the preceeding.

I am sure that soon we will be able to perform in front of our computors
with other players far away while reading notes from a composer who just
finished a piece, give lessons to a student in some far off land, and
audition players for an orchestra all via the internet.

":-) I hope the digital music pirates will not be hacking our sine waves:-)"

Still, to some players somewhere may be that interesting information which
came about by researching an old item bought online in another country,
which makes a difference at some point of his or her important life.

Life is not just about playing, as playing is not just about the
instrument, as gadgets or old instruments are not just about money.
Collecting old clarinet and other instrumental items should be a process of
investigation, education, and publication. It does not matter if you are
selling that ten year old double register Buffet or a box of french reeds
from 1910. There is a lesson in it and an answer for some young mind. And
itis fun, and in some cases does some people a world of good.

So in conclusion I have three degrees of appology:

1. My spellchecker and coffe-maker is broken and I appologize for my
spelling and loss of wit.

2. Sorry I pulled items which I did not get what bids I should because at
my age I deserve to have fun and to have some cash in my pocket to make it
happen

3. That my memory is not what it used to be so if I ask about an item I or
somebody else has in deatail it is because I wish to edcuate myself and
this is great to do here because it is all sharing.

Thanks you all, and to all my very best wishes, sincerelely!

Oh, and did I mention I have several interesting items I have added...?

Cheers, Leo
