I do all my own work, and I've been doing it for years. Quite simply, I don't
feel that anybody will take as much care with my instruments as I will.

(I did get some wonderful help a year ago from Francois Kloc, who looked at
my bass and made a few choice alterations. Thanks, Francois.)

Armed with a good working knowledge of tools, the Eric Brand book, and a
Feree's catalog....one can perform wonders. Be prepared to BUY the RIGHT
tool, though.

Why doesn't the music store want to sell repair accessories? Each visit to
the repairman pulls you back into the store, where, guess what? You'll
probably buy something. Nothing sinister. Just business.
