Ok I am a little behind. I have things up an running in a temporary
location after moving out (the move in is yet to come).

I am not sure about gadgets (what about percussionists?) but many trumpet
players are major equipment freaks. Since you can buy good quality
instruments in the trumpet family for a fraction of a single pro Bb (not
to mention a bass cl) many trumpet players own a closet full of
instruments of various types and keys.
