Tony Pay, for the kind remarks. I've learned far more from this list than I
can possibly give back to it. I'm afraid you guys are going to give me a
swelled h

This is Shadow Cat taking over. Oh, gag me with a hairball, my pet human is
getting all misty-eyed and sentimental. Ick. Enough!

"Going to" give her a swelled head? Every human has a swelled head! Has
anybody ever weighed one of those heads? I guess it has to be so big and
gross to accomodate that blobby, inefficient human brain -- sort of the way
computers used to take up a whole room to clunk along on less memory than you
can get in a Palm Pilot now. Her telepathy circuits are pitiful. She nods
off and can't even tell when I'm making her type my messages. I'm glad I've
got the more evolved, feline model so I don't have to lug around wetware that
cumbersome and inadequate.

And kindly stop telling her that you like her writing, because you'll only
encourage her. When she writes e-mail, she borrows Kevin's laptop brain
annex. That lap is mine by right! I'm the laptop of record! I'm entitled
to that lap!

Anyway, the more she corresponds with clarinetists, the more she thinks about
the screech-stick and the more she practices. I'm entitled to my naps in
peace and quiet and I'm entitled to sleep in that lap. If she's going to get
sentimental about something, she should be petting me and adoring me, not
going all gooey-gushy about a howling pack of clarinetists.

That reminds me -- with spring weather coming along, I suppose pretty soon
all you stump-suckers will start practicing with your windows open. Oh,
joy. (Not.) You'll set off every dog in the neighborhood. Canine karaoke:
"Aah-wwwoooooo! Yip yip yip!"
