I suspect that the heat was the major factor. Since I am also in Michigan,
and keep a clarinet in my truck available for filling lulls in the route
(or practicing parts, currently Reed 2 for "Crazy for You"), I should maybe
check! I do keep it in the case when not in use, though. The instrument
itself, a metal Walter Mueller "Empire State" is impervious to the weather,
which is why I chose it for the duty over any others I have.
