I've seen several references to fingerings and pitch in the altissimo
register of the Eb clarinet. Get Peter Hadcock's Eb clarinet excerpt book
(pub. Roncorp) which has a few pages of fingerings related to special
places in the covered repertoire. There are a lot of good "alternate"
fingerings there. Hadcock makes the point that the Eb clarinet requires
special fingerings in the altissimo register - it isn't sufficient to use
the same one's you'd use on Bb or A clarinet. I got this book when it was
first out, and took it to a lesson with the Eb player of the New York
Philharmonic, Peter Simenauer. He turned straight to the fingerings, and
after a few minutes perusal said "I don't know this book, and I've never
met Hadcock, but these are the fingerings I use". A very useful book for
the Eb player.
