Now i have a name for what i am doing.

Somewhere along the line i decided that it was better use of my limited
finances to spend money on lessons (with the best teachers i have
access) and hearing live performances than equipment and recordings
(often borrowable, library or friends).

And, sometimes, that leads to new equipment.

toys/tools distinction will be useful for a couple of students.

And a new mental tool....
Just did first reading of your article "phrasing in contention".
Now i know i am using mostly end oriented phrasing and may want to change
that for classical-- sometimes what i do doesn't feel entirely 'right'.

thanks!
