I see your point. I'm certainly not going to be spending $50-$70 for the
fancier ligatures out there. But I do need a new one. I had a kind of whim
to learn to play clarinet, so I bought a used Bundy for cheap. It hadn't
been well-cared for--the mouthpiece was dinged on the lip and facing, and
the ligature looked slightly misshappen. But a new mouthpiece and some
keywork adjustment made it far more playable. So if I replace the bad
ligature I'll probably be set, for now.
