Dear Neil:
Like you, I find the wandering topics and grammatical nit-picking wearing on
my nerves, but if you attack Rumpole (who doesn`t really write, but is
written about-how`s that for nit-picking?), then we shall certainly have to
roll around out in the parking lot. A more entertaining set of stories has
never been written and I return to them as one would an old friend. As he
would say, "I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death
your right to say it." Unless of course you denigrate the great Rumpole of
the Bailey.
