Personally, I think it follows the "any given day theory" and depends on the
reed of the day, how your emboucure is working that day, and who knows what
else. Each may be correct for a given set of conditions.

I spend a few seconds "fiddling" with the screws (and reed position) when
I'm setting up until it plays like I want it to.
