I have a B46 also but it is stuffy and unnatural sounding for me. I cannot
use the range of reeds as I do with the 45 and it accentuates the
transtitional points or problem points. Especially with one register key I
get that insecure feeling around G# to A# and the uppers are not as secure.
Even with a softer reed the notes do not sound as good as the 45.
However I did go through 6 Vandoren B45's before I got the right one.
