I have one of the original Accubore barrels with the Moennig taper. (It is
the kind with the funky "fins" on it.) I bought it when they first came
out.
Gotta say, I have really liked it. My only problems were that it was pretty
bright sounding and everybody looked at me funny when I played with it (it
is also a 65, and I now need a 67). I no longer use it because I have a
Chadash that I love, but the Accubore was quite good. It has a focused
sound with a lot of ring to it.
I will still use it on occasion when I play new music or stuff in a jazz
style as it can take the slightly more aggressive sound. I personally don't
like it as much for classical.
