Sadly, I hear that they have stopped making Boehm instruments entirely.
The other pro was Leslie Schatzberger, whom you must know. But this was
an off-the-cuff remark about 20 years ago, and she may have different
views now, so I wouldn't want to hold her to them. I loved her bass and
offered to buy it if she decided to change, but she never got back to me
so I guess she still likes it! 'Offered' is wrong, 'begged' would be more=
accurate.
I feel that too many bass clarinets sound too much like saxophones in
the upper register. Maybe it's just the way I blow... but in the absence =
of
Uebel, I chose the Buffet sound to the Selmer when I changed bass
recently.
