I find it very interesting how an instrument pitched to a different key
opens up a new voice that is unique. I love the *basset clarinets and the
bassett horns for this reason, not just for the sake of their use in
ceratin werks.

[*The extra length of wood seems to give it a slightly darker and slightly
more richer tone. Don't you think?]

The best C (and D) Clarinet is made by LeBlanc (I hear), and then Noblet C
is good also. I do not know id Buffett or Evette makes one.
