Yes, I own both bassethorn and bass clarinet.

Both are excellent instruments, in my view, except that the keywork is a
bit unreliable.

*I'd* say that their bass clarinet sounds more like a bass clarinet than
other bass clarinets do.

But what do I know?

(Another way of putting that would be to say, what does the *other*
'professional' know?-)
