Stravinsky wrote and copyrighted two or three versions of his "Firebird." Many
speculate that different versions were issued by Stravinsky to anticipate and
work around copyright laws that were of short duration, and thus, by issuing a
new version, perpetuated royalties to himself. (Smart man!) I think the original
was 1912, but I could be wrong. P. Jergenson's editing or arrangement could be
anything. Is this music, and the group you're playing with, for orchestra or
band? Who's playing the bassoon part?
