Dear Mr. Galper,
I obtained your email address from the Klarinet list, I hope you don't mind.
I am a 16 year old, 11th grade Canadian student living overseas. I intend
on persuing a music career with a major in either clarinet performance or
education. University of Toronto is my first choice. I was wondering
whether you gave lessons to non-university students, and whether or not you
would be willing to give me lessons on a short term basis. Unfortunately,
because I live overseas I am only in Canada for the summers, from June to
August. I am currently working on Vaughan-Williams' "SIx Studies in English
Folksong" and Finzi's "Five Bagatelles for Clarinet and Piano." Are these
appropriate pieces for college auditions? I am also working on the Mozart
K622 and WEber #2 however it's highly unlikely that I'd be ready for the
technical ability which these two pieces require soon.
Thanks in advance,
Joseph Farag
P.S. I enjoy reading your postings on Klarinet and always find them
enlightning.
