Dear Adam

Sorry my response is somewhat late, I was calculating the results of the
past year of the two bands of which I am the treasurer.

Your question for recordings of Banja Luka can be answered quickly:

The composer, Jan de Haan is also the owner of "De Haske Publishing" in
Heerenveen, The Netherlands. (If the composer is not Jan, it is his brother
Jacob). This company has published a record called ... "Banja Luka". I am
not certain, who are playing it, but I am almost absolutely sure the
conductor is Jan de Haan himself.

Jan de Haan is one of the very, very good conductors for wind bands in this
country. In the province where he lives, are vry few, if I am informed
correctly only two, wind bands of the type that I saw as highschool and
University bands, with clarinets, flutes and so on. Also the typically Dutch
band, the fanfare, is found there rather scarcely, I think there are abiut
thirty. But the province abounds with brass bands. Several of these belong
to the best in the world: "De Bazuin" from Oenkerk en "De Waldsang" from
Buitenpost both have beaten the English, mostly professional brass bands
during European and world championships. Jan de Haan is the conductor of the
brass band "Soli Deo Gloria", Leeuwarden, that was European champion two or
three years ago.

The record is not very expensive, somewhere around US$15, but of course I
don't know what they will charge you for the shipping.
