I think so. The first one is called "special trills," though it's not really
a trill study - all in 16ths, with particular fingerings specified (except
you have to figure out the French) - purpose is to loosen up the fingers.
The second is the left hand exercise you have, followed by a similar one for
the right hand. Number 4 is for tremolo and/or flutter tongue and staccato,
5 is scales and arpeggios in all keys with various articulations, and 6 is
for tone, phrasing, breath control, legato connections, etc. The forward
suggests that it would take about a half hour to do the book through, once
learned - it's meant to give a complete workout in a short period of time,
for when you just don't have more time to practice. I generally use the
exercises as part of my warmup routine, usually a different one each time.
