Dear All,

Thanks to all of you who were so helpful with info on the Buffet R-13. I
decided to wait a while on this purchase.

I would like to wait until I have the opportunity to try the Leblanc
Concerto, R-13 and some others side by side to find one that suits my
tastes. To do this I will make a day trip to a place where this will be
possible.

However, in the meantime, to keep me happy, (must be cabin fever!), I decided
to purchase the Buffet E-13. The literature said it was similar to the R-13.

So far I am pretty happy with it.

Some one had mentioned the funky Bb a lot of clarinets have. Well my
Normandy 4W has this problem. Always drove me nuts! However the Buffet E-13
does not have this problem, YES! But-------the C# (Thumb, 3 fingers and left
pinky) is really funky!

Is this a problem with design or a character flaw of this clarinet? Just to
let you know the third finger hole seems to be more offset than other
clarinets/

Also, I know about the breaking in of a new wood clarinet but about how long
should this breaking in last? I played it for 15 min the first day, 20 min
the second day, third day and 4th day, should I just increase it 5 min a day
after this?

This list has become an invaluable resource to me. I have learned so much!
Thanks to all you you who take the time to share your opinions and expertise!

Sincerely,
Georgette Calzati
