I ought also to have said that such a film score would likely be a "CASE X"
item (no interlibrary loans). But the UC WILL make a microfilm for you.
That's how I got the Bouffil duo for clarinet and harp and the Alexander
Quartet for clarinet and strings. Each of those cost me 25 bucks, so
figure on that as some kind of base price. A whole film score will be
bigger than a 3-4 movement quartet, but probably not more than 20 times
greater in size. My guess is that you will have to pay more than 25 bucks,
but I doubt that it would be an amount equivalent to the size factor.
There is an outside chance that the folks at the UC have a flat rate for
microfilms, for the following reason: Every time someone puts out the
money for a microfilm, the library makes a master copy for themselves, then
a copy of the copy for you AND a copy of the copy for THEM. I noticed a
week after I got the Alexander Quartet that the UC Berkeley library showed
a circulating microfilm version of the quartet.

Ah, it's nice to be such a philanthropic patron of the arts! 8-)

Oliver
