Did you ever try the Uebel basset horns (from the old east Germany, and I=

beautifully made. I had the fortune to play some rented but brand new one=

Their bores were also narrow in their bass clarinet - also a nice
instrument, but one professional who had one wondered whether it really
sounded too much like a soprano clarinet, just an octave lower, =
