Georgette: I own an R13 and a Normandy 8. I also double on Tenor and Alto,
both Yamaha 62 level instruments. I use the R13 exclusively for symphonic
band and stage work. I use the Normandy for big band and outdoor work where
weather is a factor or by my estimate 2/3 of the audience are busy trying to
get 3 hotdogs in their mouth at one time and the Music Appreciation Factor
is low. During rehearsals or intermissions I'll move the Y62 sax(s) out of
the path of klutz brass people who cut through the section like errant tug
boats on the way to their seats. The R13 stays in my hands at all times.
If you acquire an R13 you might want to hold onto the Normandy 4 for similar
reasons.
