For enharmonically equivalent keys, no. of sharps + no. of flats @-----. So
A# has TEN sharps.
And ---- quite a few modern composers do write all their tunes in C, or,
at
any rate, without a key signature. This doesn't necessarily mean they're
easy to transpose....
