Nah, I've just been involved in too many root cause analyses where the
answer that everyone thought was true (and was based on a significant sample
size) turned out to be false. If we had implemented the solution that
"everyone knew was true", we would have wasted a lot of bucks.

Thanks for inserting the "not". After I sent it, I kicked myself for not
proofreading better.
