Hi Christina,

I forgot to mention that in the Scherzo of Opus 20 around measure 84 the
strings launch into what I am able describe only as a Bavarian Bandstand
waltz which goes for about 16 measures, then the melody continues but the
bassoon plays a quarter note scale, one per measure, down and then up again
with the melody in the background. It lends an unexpected enchantment to
the piece. I played it again this evening and my earlier comment about the
French horn "glory" part ought to be discounted. It is a rather minor, but
certainly pleasant, touch.
