Nicholas,

My teacher recommends the method mentioned below and it is very effective.

Nicholas,
You've doubtless gotten some quite good advice already. Have you tried
playing the passage intentionally _unevenly_? Someone a few years ago gave
a good explaination of this but I'll give a synapsis. You take a passage
of 16th notes (since I'm assuming that it is long passages of notes of the
same duration that are bothering your) and play as if they were dotted 16th
& 32nd. Then reverse the dot and play 32nd & dotted 16th. You can also
play them like 8th note triplets w/ 2/3 & 1/3 then 1/3, 2/3. I think this
helps because it gives you a resting place and then allows you to get the
connections between every other note down and then work on the other set.
It also lets you practice the music without stressing out over being
exactly even. Once you have this under control try playing evenly and see
what happens. I was introduced to this by a piano teacher but have heard
list members mention it as well.
Good Luck,
Anne
