I have a love/hate relationship with my Rovner. On some reeds it provides a
nice "darkening" (sorry Dan) to the sound while keeping resonance. On other
reeds it sounds simply dull.
I have much better luck with a Rovner on my Bass....I use it most of the
time, unless I'm playing a part where I really have to ROAR. Then I use the
metal one that came with the instrument.
Here's a good one for you....try taping the reed on with black electrical
tape. Makes a GREAT ligature.........ummmmmm....forget about changing reeds
during the concert, tho........
