Like most of my nonBbClarinet playing, my sax playing was a matter of
necessity rather than invention. At university, there was no bari for the
stage band one year. I was "nominated" to play it. ("Well, the fingerings
are the same as your upper register!") I did the job, which I found much
easier when we played at the country club since they put portable bars next
to each end of the bandstand ... and the bari sax was at one end of the
bandstand. <g> Other than certain semiforced assignments on the sax, I've
always tried to stick with clarinet.

Interestingly, the one note that really bugged me was C2. I couldn't get
used
that finger flip for some reason.
