To all,

I have just received info on the 2nd annual Clarinet Festival at =
Kennesaw State University, in Kennesaw, GA. I am pasting in the info =
since I am not sure if every one can receive attachments. Last year was =
excellent. I am not familiar with Daniel Silver but I assume it should =
be another success.

Dear Clarfest99 attendee:

As the clarinet instructor at Kennesaw State University, I am proud to =
announce that KSU will be hosting
its second annual clarinet festival, Clarfest2000, on Saturday, April 1, =
2000. As you all know, the success
of last year's festival more than exceeded our expectations, which makes =
us that much more excited about
this year's event. I would like to take this opportunity to invite you =
to attend this year's activities. The
featured artist will be Daniel Silver, professor of clarinet at the =
University of Colorado in Boulder and
clarinetist of the National Gallery Chamber Music Society in Washington, =
DC. Mr. Silver is also on
faculty at the Interlochen Summer Music Arts Academy. He is former =
principal clarinetist of the
Washington Chamber Orchestra and the Baltimore Opera Orchestra. There =
will be master classes, clinics
and recitals given by both Professor Silver and myself. There will also =
be ample opportunity for the
students to perform in the classes and on the student recital.
I would greatly appreciate your communication with your students and/or =
colleagues in spreading the word
about Clarfest2000. I have enclosed a copy of an application that =
includes the day's itinerary. Also
enclosed is a flyer advertising the event. I will be asking students who =
wish to participate in the master
classes or the recital to submit tapes no later than March I with the =
piece and/or excerpts they would like to
perform.
Please do not hesitate lo contact me if you have any questions regarding =
this year's festival or anything else
about the KSL' music program. Thank you again for your support and help =
in getting the word out about
Clarfest2000
With best wishes to vou and yours,
