I am lazy, I am a slacker, and I like hair. I am also 56 years old this
month, which makes me an unreconstructed hippie who learned how to knot
a tie those two days a week when I have to come in here looking
"businesslike." I'm also an ex-academic which makes me look even
weirder to some of the people I've worked with/for.

The places I've worked for over the years EMPLOY me, they do not own me
even if they think otherwise. Slacker or not, I give them value for the
buck. My hair is my business.

Actually, when I was over at Morgan Stanley, real "white shoe" joint,
one of the IT Managing Directors had a graying ponytail to top off the
thousand-buck suits and Ferragamo shoes. Before he became a programmer
and rose through the ranks he was a rock musician.

Some of us ya can't buy or scare.
