Actually, I've done this, and it works quite nicely. On one of our road
trips with the NMSU Pride Marching Band this past fall, I forgot my lig
when changing over to my gig bag from my hard case for the trip. No one
had a spar lig, but I had a spare pony elastic (I normally wear two for
games, since my hair has to be in my hat; one at the base of the hair, and
another halfway down the tail to keep it all together in the hat). I went
with only one on my head on the other on my mpc - three times over and it
held the reed on and played fine!

Ah...the stereotypes and quick judgements still exist. I can see now that
I will never get away from the stereotype that I am lazy, or a slacker, or
a hippy, simply because I like hair.
