Klarinet Archive - Posting 000106.txt from 2000/02

Subj: [kl] teachers for adult clarinetists (was "Why?")
Date: Wed, 2 Feb 2000 23:22:59 -0500

After reading the posts on this subject, I realized how lucky I've
been in the past couple of years. I have had no difficulty finding a
teacher, although I don't really qualify as a beginner either (and
that may certainly be the deciding factor, although my first teacher
in KC area would have had no real way of knowing my skill level).

Someone (I apologize, I forgot who) made the suggestion that you
check out the local community bands, as one of those clarinetists may
be able to teach you. That's a good suggestion, but you might also
ask if any of the clarinetists are taking lessons (and who
they are taking lessons from) - that at least gives you the name of
someone willing to work with adults.
