So perhaps my interpretation of what Rien said was wrong too, Neil!
Had you never heard this thing about the do(ugh)nut, Rien? I think we
*all* assumed that that came into what you meant in some way. I just
didn't think that you were implying that Kennedy knew about the other
meaning of "Berliner", and Neil thought that you were.
As for starting an argument -- well, on my side it's just playful, and I
hope for the others too, even if the point is quite a deep one.

Absolutely no criticism of you intended, Rien. Just as I'm sure no-one
in Berlin at the time would have thought less of Kennedy for exactly how
he expressed his support for them.
