I may be one of the few people who is in exactly the same boat as you:
I just retired my Mitchel Lurie Springboard and got a Rovner Dark. I
don't notice much difference in the sound (changed mouthpieces at the
same time, so hard to tell what effect the lig had on the whole deal),
but it works well enough. It can be harder to pull the mouthpiece off
to swab without un-seating your reed, however. It goes on quicker than
the springboard (only 1 screw), and the Rovner won't chew up your
mouthpiece - unless the screw digs in on the top. I can't see this
happening on my set-up, however. List members will warn you about the
larger mouthpieces that require the Rovner to be unscrewed most of the
way to fit - that's when the trouble starts. Hey, for $16, you can't go
wrong!
