Why?

Because I love music. Because a cello's too bulky - that was the instrument
I learnt at school more than 45 years ago. Because, having retired from the
formal workforce, I have the time available. Because I love the sound of the
woodwinds. Because I had an instrument available.

I found a teacher - but no thanks to my local music store who suggested I
look in the Yellow Pages. I believed that I needed a teacher, especially in
the early stages in order to avoid developing bad basic technique and
forming bad habits.
