While the basic rhythm can be a challenge, and many 'tongueing problems'
are actually coordination or finger accuracy problems, i have a rather
slow tongue. For instance, letter D in first movement has many repeated
notes. I can play any one measure or two single tongue, but tension and
fatigue interfere beyond those individual measures. Double tongue is
easier to maintain longer time, but when fatigue/tension cause a stumble,
the crash is worse.
The bassoon/clarinet soli after D is in low register, the dbl-tongue
sounds fine.

This double-tongue works in the clarion register, but i am not consistent
in keeping the throat/tongue shaping-- it can sound squawky .

I tested the results with my clarinet coach, playing 3 iva G scale two
ways. He did not hear a difference.
And my clarinet collegue commented on the improved speed and clarity
several times this season. Then i said that i was doubletonguing.

i also find improvement in the regular tonguing, I think because of the
improved coordination and awareness.

I hope other people respond. Also about the Scherzo in Midsummer Nights
Dream.
I imagine most orchestra players can single tongue both these passages.

I wish that i was one of those people who can single tongue, but i am
very glad to have found a way to play these passages.
