I think Dee has some excellent suggestions here that
beginners and
intermediates would like to know about mouthpieces.
Dee's list
brings to mind the Van Doren web site where they
have a nicely
organized diagram showing the lay and tip opening
for all their
mouthpieces and give a short description of what
each is good for. It
would be really nice to see some of this same
information for other
mouthpieces so that a person could compare them. I
realize that each
mouthpiece maker has special designs and that the
lay, tip
measurements only tell part of the story but at
least it would be a
starting point for someone in their search for new
mouthpiece.
