Dear Dan:

I'm afraid that what I say here will not make your job easier. Opinions
are important to those of us who monitor the list for recommendations
about mouthpieces, equipment, teachers, etc. The problem is that all
opinions are not equal. The opinion of someone who makes a living
teaching or performing on the clarinet is much more valuable to me than
the opinion of a student or amateur. Are these opinions still
subjective? Yes. But it's more information than we have otherwise.

The clarinet parents of the world would love for you to sort this out
for us - but I know that I wouldn't get near it with a 10-foot pole.

Good Luck

Judy
