My wife and I have found this same negativity in the local folk here =
(keep in mind the only culture most of them have is whats growing in =
their shorts). We were both were absent from playing for 20 years and =
started back in college to get our music degrees. Practically everybody =
we met said "WHY!". This has been very discouraging for my wife =
especialy, but I keep supporting her and urging her on even though I had =
to quit for bypass surgery. I just tell these people WE LIKE IT, WE =
ENJOY IT and ITS FUN! As for that plastic clarinet, Many of us who have =
expencive wooden ''horns" have a plastic back up model. Some of these =
are good instruments. Keep in mind that not all wooden clarinets out =
there are good. Some real clunkers have been made in wood over the =
years. I say stick with it. Listening to good music is fun, but making =
good music a most enjoyable experience.
