Tone is very much a matter of personal preference. That said, I find his
tone to be grating. Somewhere in the range between a weed whacker and a
circular saw. I find that to my ear, Branford Marsalis tone on soprano is
just about ideal. It is well balanced, beautiful round tone. As to
technique, Kenny G can wiggle his fingers, but doesn't seem to say anything.
I would rather hear fewer notes that are well chosen.
