The late Jerry Stowell was the Eb clarinetist in the Chicago Symphony in the
Reiner days. I have a copy of the music he used for Til: it is a manuscript
transposition of the D part down a half step for Eb clarinet use. While it
is similar to the later published Hadcock version, there are many enharmonic
differences: Bb equally A#, etc. The measure you are asking about ends with
Bb then B natural for the Eb clarinet. Earlier in the measure there is a Bb
which is carried through, then becoming B natural at the end (the whole
measure, for clarity is: a, Bb,a C natural Bb then b natural). So, at least
in the Reiner days in Chicago, there was a half step difference at the end of
that measure. Doug P.
