orchestra players.

The person who was to play bass clarinet on Hindemith SYMPHONIC
METAMORPHASIS on next Tuesday concert has not been present at rehearsal.
The question is; how does that part compare to Nutcracker in difficulty?
I see that it is a *clarinet* part and has many unison and 8va lines.
i am asking this *just in case* the personnel manager asks my opinion on
who to get for the remaining 2 rehearsals.

What a fine, FINE piece of music!! i had heard it once on a concert, and
liked it. Am enjoying getting to know this music.

Also on the program is Saint Saens Sym.3 which is a good test of double
tongue technique in first movement. It is working well, except that i
get tense or tired after 6-8 measures. But 8 years ago morethan one
measure was a struggle.
