I don't find that the Vandies do any worse than glass - they keep the reed
flat, and I find the grooves rather nice, as they allow the reed to dry on
all sides, which I feel to be an advantage over plate glass. Not to
mention that whole humidity thingy and the price - I think the Vandoren is
just the better way to go, personally.
(Just make sure you wash it occasionally. Mold isn't cool.)
