My suspicion is that Rheingold, not being of high quality, was dirt cheap --
leading to its consumption in large quantities. Which, even with lesser
qualities, can lead to memories of youth, fond or otherwise.

Words of wisdom from my grandfather:

"Kevin, my boy, there is no such thing as bad beer. Some beer is better
than other beer, to be true, but the only truly bad beer is NO beer."
