A good example of using the open D is in the 4th movement (Hora) of the
Fifth Suite by Alfred Reed. One very fast passage consists of 16ths ca.
mm@-----. Rough to play
cleanly with the long D fingering. Since the style is Klezmer, a little
intonation discrepancy is not noticed using the open D.
