New book on Playing the Clarinet by Tom Ridenour.
Title is
"The Educator's Guide to the Clarinet"
I am taking names for him to reserve advance copies of this "How to play the
Clarinet book".
This is from Tom in an e-mail he sent to me:
"It is an exhaustive treatise, both thorough and comprehensive in its scope.
The book is 8 1/2 X 11, and is almost 250 pages long.
It includes thorough analysis of all playing techniques, with graphs,
drawings and examples galore, teaching techniques, explanations of the
mechanics of tone production, step by step ways each technique can be
taught,
exercises......the whole nine yards! Plus extensive analysis of equipment
and a revolutionary method of reed finishing that even young players can
learn to successfully use, with no expensive equipment to buy and no long
periods developing difficult to learn reed finishing skills.
In short, the book is 30 years of experience with the clarinet squeezed into
250 pages of text.
It will be available in about two weeks.
I think you'll find it to be the clearest, most thorough educational book
ever written on the clarinet.....that, at least, has been one of my goals in
writing it."
The book costs $42.50 + $4 shipping. It is published by Tom, and I am taking
names for advance orders that will be sent in about 2 weeks.
Just send me an e-mail with name, and e-mail address, and I'll forward them
to Tom. He will contact you after that.
